1.    Dixon High School will be hosting the First-Round of the IHSA 4A State Football Playoffs this Saturday.  We will play Richmond-Burton at 1:00 at AC Bowers Field.  Tickets will be $5.00 for all ages.  No passes will be allowed, and there will be no reserved seating or parking for the playoffs.  Advanced tickets will be available for purchase on Friday, October 31 from 7:00-4:00 through Door #33 located at the main entrance to the Old Gym.  If staff would like to attend, they must also purchase a ticket since this is an IHSA event. If you purchased Playoff clothing, we will also be distributing them at that location during that time.  Gates will open at 11:45 on Saturday for the game.  Tickets will also be available for purchase on game day.

2.    BLIND leaders at DHS ask all students and staff to wear their BLIND t-shirts this Thursday October 30 in support of our BLIND program.  If a BLIND leader sees you in your BLIND shirt, you might get a surprise!  If any student or staff does not have a BLIND shirt they should see Mr. Padilla in Room 405; he has extras from this year and previous years.

3.    Sauk Valley Community College‚Äôs College Night returns on Thursday, November 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the newly renovated Sauk Gymnasium. More than 80 different representatives from colleges, universities, vocational-technical schools, and the military will be on hand to answer questions about their institutions and programs. College Night will also feature a free Financial Aid Workshop at 6 p.m. in room 1K4. If you have any questions see your counselor.

4.    The following colleges and armed forces representatives will be here on the dates listed below to provide information and answer any questions you may have. Please sign up in the counseling office if you are interested.

Monmouth College-Wednesday, October 29 @ 9:00 a.m.
Rockford University-Friday, October 31 @ 10:00 a.m.

5.    Winter sport online registration is now open!  All students who want to play girls or boys basketball, girls or boys bowling, or wrestling MUST register online and then submit their physical.  Registration is located on the DPS Website under the link DPS Athletics.  See Ms. Price or Mrs. Bailey if you have questions. Here are the start dates for Winter Sports at DHS:

Mon, November 3:  Girls Basketball
Mon, November 10:  Boys Basketball & Wrestling
Mon, November 17: Girls Bowling
All athletes must register online to participate!

6.    CREATIVE WRITING FORUM: Next meeting will be Wednesday, October 29 at 2:30 in the library.

7.    All available scholarships are posted in the counseling office.
